Clinical Translational Research Program, iPS cell-based Cardiovascular Medical Research

The team is working on the development of human iPS cell-engineered biomimetic heart organoids by co-culture of various human iPS cell-derived heart cells (cardiomyocytes, vascular endothelial cells and stromal cells) and biomaterials aiming for the medical application including cardiovascular regenerative medicine, disease modeling and drug discovery. They are trying to drive maturation of the heart organoids through physical training culture. They are also working on the evaluation of tissue function of the heart organoids through bioassay systems.
